The National Union Of Italian Film Critics presents the Selection Committee 2019

Franco Montini, born in Rome in 1952, is a journalist and film critic. He writes for the daily newspaper La Repubblica as well as for many specialised magazines such as Il giornale dello spettacolo, Viviilcinema, Ciak, and Cinema & Video International. He is the President of the Union of Italian Film Critics and of the association Made in Italy, which has long been committed to the promotion of Italian cinema abroad. He is specifically concerned with Italian film production and has published a number of books, including I novissimi (published by Eri) and the briographies of Italian directors Carlo Verdone (Gremese Editore) and Luigi Magni (Eri). Moreover, he edited the volumes Il cinema italiano del terzo millennio (Lindau) and Gian Maria Volontè – Lo sguardo ribelle (Fandango Libri).

Journalist and film critic, Nazzaro writes for Il Manifesto, Film TV and MicroMega. He published several books and essays and curated several retrospectives on Thomas Heise, Ross McElwee, Kevin J. Everson among others. He collaborated with the Festival dei Popoli, Turin Film Festival and the Rome International Film Festival.

Journalist and film critic, Casella writes for Mymovies.it and collaborates with Io Donna, La Lettura del Corriere, 8 1/2 and CineCritica. She published several books on cinemas, including Hollywood Italian and Cinema: femminile, plurale. She teaches the Narratives course at the International Master in Cultural Diplomacy of the Università Cattolica.

Journalist and film critic, Emiliani is founding member and editorial supervisor of the online film magazine Sentieri Selvaggi, He collaborates with Film Tv, Cineforum, Filmcritica e Filmparlato as well. Among his publications, the monographies on Walter Hill (with Mauro Gervasini) and Dustin Hoffman (with Carlo Altinier), and the volumes Fughe da Hollywood and Kevin Costner. Journalist and film critic, Fiorentino writes for the daily Il Piccolo and other online publications. Since 2008 she collaborates with the University of Koper where she teaches cinematographic and audiovisual language. Since 2015 she curates the New Imprints section at the ShorTS – International Film Festival and is a member of the “Films of the Critics’” Commission of the National Union of Italian Film Critics’.

Journalist and film critic, Manassero is editor-in-chief of Cineforum.it. He collaborates at the Mereghetti – Dizionario di cinema and with the magazines Film Tv and Doppiozero.com. He published volumes and articles on Alfred Hitchcock, Paul Thomas Anderson, Gus Van Sant, Milos Forman, Liv Ullmann and Hollywood classical cinema.
