Synopsis

The newly purchased country home of a young couple, Santiago and Elisa, and their little child, soon turns into a disturbing place. The house rural environment, surrounding emptiness, and neighbours all make Elisa uneasy. She worries continously over every noise of the night, every unexpected visit and unforeseeable event. Even Santiago and Elisa's love life is strained by this new situation. Not only is the balance of their relation destabilised, but also that of the Elisa's mind as she worries more and more for the safety of her child within this context of events, people, animals, and sudden mood swings.

Hernán Belón

Graduated at the Film School of the National Institute of Cinema, he worked as director, executive producer, editor and assistant director. He directed the short Aluap (1997), the TV drama Fish & Pay (2003), and the documentaries Land of Refuge (2005), The Foro (2006), The Tango of My Life (2008), and Sofia cumple 100 anos (2009). El campo is his debut feature.
