The RaroVideo Audience Award for the Best Film of 29. Venice International Film Critics’ Week, independent section of the 71st Venice Film Festival, goes to:
Ničije dete / No Ones’s Child by Vuk Ršumović (Serbia, Croatia).
Introducing the film in the 29th edition of the Venice International Film Critics’ Week, the General Delegate Francesco Di Pace says:
“In Vuk Ršumović’s Serbian film Ničije dete (No one’s Child), we have a boy who is some sort of a little wild animal found by chance in the Bosnian woods. We are in pre-war Yugoslavia and this boy is taken to an orphanage in Belgrade for an educational reinsertion. The outbreak of the war and the division of the territory will dramatically mark his regression towards solitude and, perhaps, death.”
The prize, consisting of 5,000 Euros, will be presented today, Friday, September 5th, at 5 pm at Club7 (Tennis Court, opposite to the Hotel Excelsior). The director Vuk Ršumović will accept the prize.
The winning film will be screened again tomorrow, Saturday, September 6th at 11:30 am, in the Sala Perla.
