Press conference of presentation of the International Film Critics’ Week 2014

The Union of Italian Film Critics (SNCCI) and la Biennale di Venezia will present the line-up of the 29. Venice International Film Critics’ Week – independent section of the 71. Mostra Internazionale d’Arte Cinematografica di Venezia – Monday 21 July 2014, 11.30 am, at Casa del Cinema in Rome, Largo Marcello Mastroianni, 1.

Franco Montini (President of the SNCCI) and the selection committee members Francesco Di Pace (General Delegate), Nicola Falcinella, Giuseppe Gariazzo, Anna Maria Pasetti and Luca Pellegrini will attend the press conference.

The 29. Venice International Film Critics’ Week will be held in Venice from 27 August to 6 September 2014. The line-up includes a selection of seven first-time director’s full-length films from all over the world, plus two special events.

The films presented in competition at the Venice International Film Critics’ Week are eligible for the “Lion of the Future – ‘Luigi De Laurentiis’ Award for a Debut Film” consisting of 100,000 USD. The award is offered by Aurelio and Luigi De Laurentiis’ Filmauro and it will be equally divided between the director and the producer. The prize is awarded to the best first-time director’s full-length film presented in one of the competitive section of the festival (both the Official Selection and the independent sections).

The seven films in competition are also eligible for the “RaroVideo Audience Award – 29. Venice International Film Critics’ Week” consisting of 5,000 Euro.
